12th British Film Festival opens in Moscow

Russia Today reports the New British Film Festival has opened in Moscow. Fifteen internationally acclaimed or award -winning films are to be screened at Moscow’s Gorizont cinema as part of the festival and Russian filmgoers are in for a rare treat as many of these films have not yet been screened in Russia.

Those being screened include are two films by David Mackenzie including  Perfect Sense (starring Ewan McGregor and Eva Green) a curious film set in Glasgow and  the tale of a couple just starting a romantic relationship just as a global virus hits the planet and  they begin to lose their senses one by one.
Another highlight of the program is Mr. Nice, directed by Bernard Rose and starring Rhys Ifans, Chloe Sevigny and David Thewlis. The movie is based on the autobiography of drug smuggler Howard Marks who helped adapt the book for the screen and is the tale of an Oxford student who becomes involved in the Mr Bigs of marijuana trafficking.
