Lest we Forget!

People across the United Kingdom will observe a two-minute silence later to mark Armistice Day. The event starts at 11:00 GMT, mirroring the time guns along the western front fell silent for a final time at the end of World War I in 1918.

They will be remembering and paying their respects to those who died in this and subsequent conflicts.

This event has been seen as controversial by those disturbed by recent events who see this as a celebration of war but most people would not recognise this view.

They will simply attend church services, ceremonies at sea, or simply stop what they are doing and stand for two minutes in silence and remember….

They will be paying their respects to those who, regardless of the politics, paid the ultimate sacrifice and died in the defence of others, they will remember those who are known to them from school or work or as comrades in arms. They will miss members of their family who died in uniform and it is a chance to pray for the many who died alone and unremembered, with no-one to pray for them.

These did not get involved in the politics they simply died trying to make the world a better place. That must be worth two minutes of time…

Messages of Remembrance and Respect can be left as comments below.
