Welcome to the Launch of Cork Monkey!

What is a Cork Monkey – well you have to know the joke – more on this in the days to come but for today Cork Monkey want you to concentrate on what we are here for.

Today at eleven minutes past eleven o’ clock is the official launch of this blog which aims to entertain and inform. Where Cork Monkey wants to be different is that we aim to be a clone free zone and free thinkers are welcome.

At Cork Monkey we want you to have your own opinion – unlike some media, politicians and the like you we don’t want to tell you what to think. Cork Monkey aims tell you some facts, as we have them, and perhaps give you a view or two (ours and others) but feel free to challenge this with your own.  That’s what your experience, your own mind and the comments box is for.

Cork Monkeys know something that some politicians and media tend to forget (or do not care about). This is that while there may be indisputable and objective facts they do not affect all of us in the same way – we all see things from our own situation. For example the news that  the cost of a dog licence is to be increased would be viewed differently by someone who has 200 dogs and compared to a ‘dog – a – phobic’ postman with fresh festering buttock wounds.

But from our perspective this is all good! This is how it is supposed to work .Cork Monkey wants you relish in your own life and views and not give in to the diet of other people’s opinions dressed up as fact that were are sometimes.

We welcome you in your diversity All we want to do is provide you with something else to think about – all we ask of you is that in your comments and contributions you understand others have the same rights as you.
